This paper is a contribution to the history of monastic orders in Shvetambara Jainism based on the example of the Ancalagaccha. The investigation is based on the one hand on sources coming from the group itself such as monastic lineages or a handbook of rules, and on the other hand on medieval texts coming from other groups where the Ancalagaccha views or practices are criticised. In addition information drawn from contemporary observation of the group is made use of.

Cet article est une contribution à l’histoire des ordres monastiques du jaïnisme shvetambara à travers le cas de l’Ancalagaccha. Les sources utilisées sont à la fois les lignées pontificales internes au groupe et leurs livres de règles, les textes médiévaux écrits par les ordres concurrents qui critiquent certaines des positions ou des pratiques de l’Ancalagaccha, et l’observation contemporaine.
