Une écologie culturelle de la ville : Une lecture de l'oeuvre de Marcel Roncayolo

Abstract : The work of Marcel Roncayolo retains its relevance in urban research because he was able to grow the legacy of urban ecology, inaugurated by sociologists of the Chicago School between the two wars. Through his research, particularly in Marseille, he addresses the city as a " cultural phenomenon " , combining continuity and change, and unfolding at different levels (physical, social and mental) of urban ecology. This communication reflects the movement, through the examination of several key concepts that have helped to define the " grammar " of Marseille and events that have helped to shape its imaginary since the colonial exhibitions of the early 20th century until the operation Marseille-Provence 2013.
