Ideologia da guerra ou ideologia dos guerreiros ? Mais algumas interpretações do relato da batalha do Salado (1340) no Livro de Linhagens do Conde Dom Pedro

The text I’m going to analyze is just one of the several monuments designed to celebrate and remember the battle of Salado, won by the Castilian and Portuguese armies against the Marinid sultan of Morocco, Abu l-Hassan, and the Nasrid King of Granada, Yusuf. This text is preserved, slightly mutilated, while insertion in the large genealogical compilation called “Livro de linhagens do Cond e D. Pedro”; it was inserted in the second recasting, about 1380-1383, and appears to have been written on purpose. Their role, therefore, is the glorification of the lineage of the Pereira, through Álvaro Gonçalves, prior of the Hospitalller Order in Portugal; this implies that the narrative of the battle may not be an objective by itself, but rather a pretext for an epic writing. My analysis will be restricted to the nobility attitude toward the war, between pagan achievement and fulfillment of the divine will.
O texto que vou analisar é apenas um dos diversos monumentos destinados a celebrar e recordar a batalha do Salado, ganha pelos exércitos castelhano e português contra o sultão merinida do Marrocos, Abû l-Hassan, e o rei nasrida de Granada, Yusuf. Este texto é conservado, levemente mutilado, enquanto inserção na grande compilação genealógica dita “Livro de linhagens do Conde D. Pedro”; foi inserido na segunda refundição, cerca de 1380-1383, e parece ter sido redigido de propósito. O seu papel, portanto, é a glorificação da linhagem dos Pereira, através de Álvaro Gonçalves, prior da Ordem do Hospital em Portugal; isso implica que a narrativa da batalha não seja um objetivo em si, mas antes um pretexto a uma escrita épica. A minha análise restringir-se-á à atitude nobiliárquica para com a guerra, entre proeza pagã e cumprimento da vontade divina
