Le grenier d'abondance de Lyon, 6 quai Saint-Vincent (1722-1777)

Abstract : In the 18th century, a granary was built in Lyon (6 quai Saint-Vincent). It was used for about fifty years then it was changed into barracks. At the beginning of the 1990s, the building has been renovated and became DRAC’s and CNSM’s offices and classrooms (two French cultural and music teaching administrations). The restorations tried to erase additions made by the army ; the aim was to discover the primitive structure of the granary. Instead of writing the story of wheat storage in Lyon only by studying written sources, we can now use the building as it is.
