Le privilège de l'attribut Pensée dans l'Éthique de Spinoza

Abstract : Reading Spinoza's Ethics is a perplexing business. And it does not ease through repeated rereadings: many problems that appear thus tend to become deeper and keener. One of those emerging problems stems from a meditation of E.II/7 and concerns the possibility of knowing something that yet our body does not feel. Expounding on this problem and on a possible resolution will enable us to delve deeper in the machinery of Ethics II and bring out the core pedagogical structure which is at play.
