Extraire pour réfuter. Pratiques de la fin du IVe s. après Jésus-Christ

Abstract : Within the long controversy that opposed, in the second half of the 4th century, Eunomius to Basil of Caesarea and Gregory of Nyssa, we have the rare fortune to have still two works of Eunomius and their refutation by his opponents: Apology and Against Eunomius by Basil, Profession of Faith and Refutation of the Profession of Faith by Gregory of Nyssa. This paper studies the relations between these refutations and the refuted text. After a general presentation of the dossier, the study focuses first on the presentation of the two texts in the manuscripts. The analysis then focuses on the quantitative relationship between text refuted and refutation (proportion of quoted text, selection of refuted text, etc.) and a qualitative study of these relations.
