Probus et l'accent
Résumé
Chapters 4,7 and 6,7 of Aulus Gellius’ Noctes Atticae give the opinion of the grammarian Probus on the accentuation of some controversial forms. Our study aims at showing that Probus followed a new method, which was only based on the prestige of literary models (auctoritas), instead of the traditional categories of analogy and anomaly.
