Il criterio della definitezza nell'Ars breuiata di Agostino

Abstract : The grammatical treatise Ars sancti Augustini pro fratrum mediocri- tate breuiata is a medieval, summarized version of the lost dialogue De grammatica written by Augustine. The section on the pronouns contains a long discussion of the definite/indefinite character of this word class, which shows that Augustine took into account different opinions on this topic and proposed an entirely new classification. The affirmative/interrogative properties of the pronouns were preferred to any ambiguous reference to deixis and context.
