[In the population of France appear great general trends, as aging, increase of the life span, periurbanisation,… However, according to the regions, evolutions are different. Thus, densities show an increase of the regional divergences. On the other hand, the spreading of a low fecondity and a failing birth-rate entail a lowering of the divergences between the regional demographic behaviours. But the regional migratory systems appear much diversified and have, among others, importants consequences on the distribution by ages of the populations of the regions. Finally, there is a paradox between some convergent evolutions and others that are neatly divergent.]

La population de la France connaît des grandes tendances générales, tels le vieillissement, l'augmentation de la longévité, la périurbanisation… Néanmoins, selon les régions, les évolutions sont différentes. Ainsi, les densités régionales montrent une accentuation des écarts entre les régions. En revanche, la diffusion d'une faible fécondité et d'une faible natalité entraîne une atténuation des écarts entre les comportements démographiques régionaux. Mais les systèmes migratoires régionaux apparaissent très divers et ont, entre autres, des effets importants sur la composition par âge des populations des régions. En définitive, il y a un paradoxe entre certaines évolutions convergentes et d'autres nettement divergentes.
