John Bunyan’s Confession of my Faith and Restoration Anabaptism

Abstract : This article examines John Bunyan's work on baptism in the light of contemporary polemics and argues that, despite the Bedford congregation being open communion, Bunyan was considered as a Baptist and not as a Congregationalist in the controversies of the 1670s.
