Abstract : The topic of this paper lies between Linguistics as a request and Linguistics robbed of its works. The author studies a short period of the GDR history delimited by, on one hand, the beginning of linguistic separatism in 1970, marked by several Ulbricht’s addresses and, on the other, by the reopening towards other national varieties of germanophony, indicated by diverse German scholars congresses in 1982 and 1983
