Les premières approches linguistiques du rromani (1500-1800) : entre présupposés, dégoût, ambitions et objectivité de méthode.

Abstract : This paper reviews the oldest testimonies of the Rromani language, since the very first word lists compiled by curiosity and published virtually without any comment or discussion about the possible origin of this people called Bohemian, Egyptian or Gypsy, up to genuine philological debates devoted to the origin of the language under review and those who speak it. The article reports how, in this context, printing-house trickeries veiled for long authentic contributions of some authors and promote plagiarism instead.
