« HOL AZ ALMA ? OU EST LA POMME ?» LES CONSTRUCTIONS LOCATIVES EN HONGROIS ET DANS UNE PERSPECTIVE COMPARATIVE

Abstract : The paper presents elicited data illustrating Basic Locative Constructions, i. e. constructions answering the question « Where is X ? » , in Hungarian and in Finnish. The analysis compares postpositions and case suffixes used in the two languages. Conclusion: Hungarian and Finnish show different uses in the semantic field ‘location’ but both invalid the hypothesis saying that most topological relations are expressed by adpositions. In fact, in most of the situations, both used case suffixes.
