Projet REFIOM : Rôle de l'Ecologie familiale dans la réduction des Impacts des Ordures Ménagères

Abstract : The sustainable development guidelines show clearly the need to consider the whole life cycle of goods and services to progress significantly towards a prevention of waste and a reduction of their ecological impacts. In this context, household consumption is an important mean to address the waste problem and the role of local authorities is essential to take into account. The aim of the REFIOM project is to make proposals to curb household consumption in order to reduce waste fluxes and associated environmental impacts. This study (Gironde, France) deals with 4 consumer products: fresh fruits and vegetables, single use sanitary textiles, clothing and waste associated with the laundry machine. The research is to study how behavior of households, related to the consumption phases of acquisition, use and disposal, are attached to the representations on waste, to the perception of levels of responsibility, as well as information provided by public authorities. Two axes are developed. The first concerns the point of view of households. The second is designed to characterize the local environmental impacts of wastes household referents study, territorial waste metabolism, modeling of local environmental impacts)
