Le face-à-face citadins/nature

Abstract : Face-to-Face betweenCity-Dwellers and NatureCan environmental protection be based on esthetic considerations, such as the beauty of animals or landscapes ? Or should it be grounded in scientific environmental ethics, or in an ethics of care ? The crucial point is to acknowledge the co-belonging of many living beings within a single material environment, to maintain solidarity among generations, and to elaborate common values generated from a diversity of practices. Such principles are observed on three cases : urban relations to pets, an artistic experiment in botanic rejected by a museum as non-artistic, the invention of ecological forms rejected by the public as technocratic.
