Abstract : Starting from ethnography of the ring, this contribution to anthropology of the pugilistic body seeks to recount the opponents' blows by revealing the background of existences that sustains the ring's experiences. From such an angle, boxing and social world experiences aren't opposed, but rather articulated as boxers' body and flesh. A body whose collective education to resistance, dodges and blows tries to respond in reality to the symbolic violence deeply rooted in a lot of boxers' flesh by the continuous relegations and other disqualifications they have to face as so many expressions of social refusal.
