Black Laughter: Poor White Short Stories Behind Absalom, Absalom! and The Hamlet.

Abstract : This article attempts to track the evolution of some seminal scenes in genetic material, unpublished and published stories connected with two major Faulkner novels, Absalom, Absalom! and The Hamlet, especially the image of the laughing black face.
