L'auteur, la compilation et la division des sciences dans le Compendium philosophie ou Compilatio de libris naturalibus Aristotelis, une encyclopédie du XIIIe siècle
Résumé
Probably written in the middle of the XIIIth century by an anonymous compiler, the Compilatio de libris naturalibus Aristotelis et aliorum quorundam philosophorum, also known as Compendium philosophie, soon received from scholars the qualification of «medieval encyclopedia». To what extent is this qualification relevant for this text? In this very short paper, we will try to test this definition through the approach of two aspects: the author’s method of compilation and his way to structure the text in connection with the classification of the sciences which is given in the Compilatio’s prologue, and which is inspired from the structure of the aristotelician natural corpus.
