This study will explore the iconographic theme of the child suffocating the goose, a Greco-Roman image often explained thanks to the Egyptian child god Harpokrates. Here, an inverse point of view is chosen for analyzing how the Hellenistic value of this theme was able to be imported in Egypt. The approach is partially comparative and aims at putting in perspective some social rites explaining an animal representational stereotype.

La présente étude aborde le thème iconographique de l'enfant étouffant l'oie, une image gréco-romaine souvent expliquée à l'aune du dieu enfant égyptien Harpocrate. Il s'agit d'adopter ici un point de vue inverse et d'analyser comment la valeur hellénique de ce thème a pu être importée en Egypte. La démarche, en partie comparatiste, a pour but de mettre en perspective des rites sociaux expliquant un stéréotype figuratif animalier.
