L'Etat, l'action publique et la sociologie des champs

Abstract : In his course at the College de France, Pierre Bourdieu pays special attention to what he calls the 'acts of state'. By doing so he invites us to focus on state policies, as he did in his study on housing. This article follows this invitation and proposes to articulate the sociology of the state and policy sociology. More precisely, it explores in this direction some of the possible uses of Bourdieu's fields theory in the analysis of the social spaces of state policy making.
