L'institutionnalisation de la norme sociale entre stigmatisation et dénonciation

Abstract : The study of an open-ended question about energy savings highlights the differences between statements of stigma - which reflect the presence of a social norm stressed by the sanction of a transgression - and statements of denunciation, criticizing particular devices of public policies to implement this social norm. The study first describes a method of investigation and analysis to identify forward-stigma about a social norm being institutionalized. Our approach proposes to combine grammatical statements of stigma and a semantic analysis of topoi identified through the vocabulary of emotions. From the distinction made by L. Kaufmann between different types of community, (Kaufmann, 2010), our analysis attempts to define the type of community supported by such statements. The statements of stigma seem to update a community legacy - made of habits and traditions - whereas the statements of denunciation intend to project a group formed on the agreement of individual wills, thereby constituting a political proposal. The article shows that these two types of statement, well distinguished from an analytical point of view, may give rise to hybrid forms or "proto-political" forms that are useful for understanding the mechanisms of politicization.
