L’avenir démographique de l’Europe

Abstract : In the two dominant interpretations of current world developments - a decentring towards the Pacific or the inevitable domination of some of the BRICS (acronym for Brazil, Russia, Indi, Indonesia, China and South Africa) -, Europe seems virtually absent, except for Russia within the BRICS. Can Europe's almost total absence be measured by demographic change ? An analysis of the current characteristics of the European population opens a discussion of possible future developments.
