Trajectoires agricoles en Europe Méditerranéenne. Une analyse en termes de dynamiques rurales

Abstract : The aim of this paper is to show that rural dynamics explain an important part of agricultural dynamics today. Rurality is more and more complex and understanding agricultural development needs to put back agricultural evolution in territorial context where all the activities are linked. We purpose an original methodology which is based on a cross between a typology of rural functions and a typology of agricultural dynamics at Nuts 3 scale of 3 Euro-Mediterranean countries (France, Italy and Spain). The results show a correlation between these two typologies with six major cases, which shows both regional and national facts and also the rapidity of change. Ultimately, this comparative analysis brings knowledge about the agriculture/territory interface by constructing cross-country indicators. This is an innovative tool for public policy on rural development as a basis for a prospective work.
