Effects of place and poverty in Europe

Abstract : This article deals with the need to build theories on the spatial dimension of poverty in order to develop analysis and action charts for more social equity and territorial efficiency. Europe being a vast region of the world, it is both a question of developing a theoretical model that allows us to grasp the constants of the spatial inscription of poverty and identifying its local, regional or national variations. This new approach consists in showing the importance of the effects of place associated with poverty and highlighting the lack of thought given to territory when it comes to implementing public policies dealing with poverty.
