Le conseil en stratégies et projets urbains : un marché atypique

Abstract : Professional careers of the consultants and the activity of the urban planning and strategy consulting firms show how atypical is this segment of the consulting market in France. The way it works is inherited from the Glorious Thirty. It is a hardly defined, a highly segmented and a financially fragile market. It is still largely dominated by the public sector (State, local authorities, urban planning agencies) and it is not fully open to competition. The private consultants carve out market niches, they activate social, professional or political networks and play the multi-activity card to overcome the disparities in access to demand.
