Troubles des conduites

Abstract : Early screening for behavioural disorders has aroused strong reactions. The INSERM report published in 2005 recommended screening at 36 months, despite the fact that the symptoms of behavioural disorder lessen with age in approximately 90% of cases. The worries of parents and the difficulties encountered by teachers motivate consultation, which sometimes generates drug prescriptions. The widening of diagnostic criteria in child psychiatry, and new lifestyles and values focused on the optimisation of social-cognitive abilities may well be related to the increase in prescriptions of psychotropic drugs to children and adolescents. The changes in category play a central part in representations and in treatment, making it important to give consideration to the changes underway.
