Espaces de vie, espaces enjeux

Abstract : Sunday walkers in surrounding countryside, teenagers roaming through their neibourhoods, students students who party under the windows of irritated local residents, dwellers evicted from their renewed housing, contested orientations of planning documents : the space is as much object of ordinary appropriation as inscription in varied public policies. The book shows the evidence of this various space and place mobilizations in a wide acception of this word. How do dwellers appropiate their neighborhoods ? Why do tensions or conflicts occur ? Planners are their really considering the uses of place as they plan it ? How this planned space can be appropriated by its individuals users ? Which articulation works between local mobilizations and public regulations ? From a collaboration between geographers, sociologists and political analysts, the book open its pages to some architects and planners. It invites to an interdisciplinary approach on space-based mobilizations and proposes perspectives and tools to develop this research field, caulling out a range of human and social sciences.
