This paper is a sociolinguistic study of phonetic change in the speech of young people living in multiethnic and multicultural urban areas of Paris and its suburbs. The dynamics of contact-induced linguistic change will be investigated through a set of acoustic and statistical analysis of the presence and the spread of a final high-low prosodic pattern in three groups of speakers in order to achieve a better understanding of the influence of significant ethnic groups present in France on the common language.

Notre travail se veut une étude sociolinguistique du changement phonétique en cours dans le parler de jeunes demeurant dans les quartiers plurilingues et multiculturels de la région parisienne. A partir d'analyses acoustiques et statistiques d'un contour prosodique conclusif montant/descendant, nous nous questionnerons sur la dynamique du contact des langues de façon à comprendre dans quelle mesure le parler de groupes ethniques importants agit en tant que possible moteur d'innovation linguistique et exerce une influence sur la langue commune.
