El turismo transfronterizo en los Andes centrales: prolegómenos sobre una geopolítica del turismo

Tourism in the Andes has developed rapidly since the '90s in the 'tri border' region (Argentina, Bolivia and Chile). From a commercial point of view, the offer is being structured at an international scale. In order to deal with this, the affected territories are getting involved in a larger number of cross border cooperation projects that are sometimes contradictory; their aim is to promote economic development and protect regions that are fragile both from a human and an environmental perspective. The analysis of the geopolitics of these projects' contexts, as well as the study of the origin of their spokespersons, allow us to reveal the conflicts between the actors in the processes of heritage formation and 'turistification'.
El turismo se ha desarrollado rápidamente en los Andes desde los años 1990, en la triple frontera entre Argentina / Bolivia y Chile. Desde un punto de vista comercial, la oferta se está estructurando a un nivel internacional. Para enfrentarla, los territorios implicados se ven involucrados en proyectos de cooperación transfronteriza más numerosos y a la vez contradictorios: se trata de valorizar el desarrollo económico y de proteger zonas frágiles desde un punto de vista tanto humano como medioambiental. El análisis de la geopolítica del contexto de aquellos proyectos como el estudio del origen de sus portavoces, nos permite revelar los conflictos entre los actores de los procesos de patrimonialización y de turistificación.
