Voice Disorders Assessment
Résumé
According to ELS a minimal assessment of voice disorders should consist of : i) a perceptual evaluation: description of the sound of voice: GRBAS scale (Hirano - 1981), ii) a visual examination with vidéostroboscopie, an acoustic analysis :using some technology, MDVP et VRP (Kay Elemetrics) for measuring parameters such as F0, Jitter, Shimmer & NHR, Max & Min Intensity & F0 and aerodynamic measurements. Subjective self-evaluation of quality of voice and life are evaluated with the Voice Handicap Index (Jacobson - 1997) scale. Voice is multidimensional and not one parameter can describe the vocal function. Clinical examination will provide a good organ assessment but the vocal function needs more Perceptual, acoustic and aerodynamic methods have a number of advantages.
