Speech therapy before and after phonosurgery

Voice disorder is characterized by a change in voice quality and timber, pitch or loudness. Voice disorder results from i) structural or physical alterations ii) certain physiological and environmental factors that may contribute to impairing the vibrator iii) inappropriate voicing mechanism: overuse or misuse. Most of the voice disorders have more than one contributing aetiological factor. The acoustic symptoms of voice pathologies are similar but the causes are many. The team approach is the key success in coaching voice disorders. Vocal management should be tailored to the individual needs of each patient
