Sipāh-i Ispahān : devenir des groupes consonantiques initiaux moyen-perses en persan

Abstract : Middle Persian initial consonant clusters all disappeared in Contemporary Persian. But what about their treatment in Early New Persian? It depends on their structure: anaptyctic vowel in C-r clusters; prothetic or anaptyctic vowel in C-Occlusive clusters. These possibilities exist in Early New Persian (10th-11th centuries) because the transformation of the Middle Persian initial consonant clusters took place in three stages: prothetic vowell in C-Occlusive from Manichean Middle Persian; anaptyctic vowel in C-r in Early New Persian; prothetic vowel in C-Occlusive clusters that becomes anaptyctic vowel by analogy with C-r clusters during the Early New Persian period.
