Langues et diasporas : enjeux linguistiques et enjeux identitaires. Réflexion à partir du cas de l'arménien occidental

Abstract : The aim of this paper is to present in which conditions Western Armenian developped as a standard language, and how such conditions are able to determine the use and the structures of a language. The concept of 'Diaspora language' implies some specificities, social ones (always non-territorialized and minority language spoken by multilingual speakers) and linguistic ones (permeability to borowwings and interferences, able to evolue toward a mixed language, language focusing indentity challenges, generating hypercorrection phenomena, language in danger, threat ot de-vernacularization). Comparison with Greek in terms of territorialiy, centrality and norm will enlight our propositions.
