This paper aims at presenting the results of the CEF-ESTIM project (2008-2009) which is part of the ECML 2008-2011 program : " Empowering Language Professionals ". The CEF-ESTIM grid inspired from the Dutch CEFR grid constitutes an easily available tool enabling foreign language teachers in Europe to empirically estimate the level range of class activities in relation to the CEFR descriptors.
