The Great Peace Scripture (Taiping jing) marks a turning point in the historical evolution of the sociopolitical and epistemological functions of the master in early imperial China: the Emperor now depends on a divinely-inspired guarantor of the orthodox interpretation of the divine instructions and of the conformity of their practice here below. Religious faith pragmatically comes from true knowledge, which comes directly from heaven.

Le Livre de la Grande paix (Taiping jing) documente l'évolution historique du rôle sociopolitique et épistemologique du maître aux premiers siècles de la Chine impériale : l'Empereur dépend désormais d'un garant, divinement inspiré, de l'interprétation orthodoxe des instructions divines et de la conformité de leur mise en œuvre ici-bas. De manière pragmatique, la foi religieuse procède du vrai savoir, lequel émane directement du ciel.
