Barriers to cooperation in business networks. The case of the wielkopolska region

Abstract : Knowledge has become one of the most important factors for the competitiveness of the globalized economy and the engine of rapid economic and social growth. Europe spends 0.8% of GDP less than the US and 1.5% less than Japan on R&D. The large European market is still not innovation-friendly enough. In reply the Innovation Union has become one of the seven flagship initiatives of the Europe 2020 strategy[European Commission, 2010].
