" Mineurs français et britanniques : un réformisme syndical ? "
Résumé
The french miners trade unionism before 1914 has been very often analysed, and almost very often criticized, through the concept of " reformism " which seems to be his main feature. Regarding that, the aim of this article is neither in a new denunciation of a betrayal, nor in an essay of rehabilitation. This article aims rather to go deeply into the notion of " reformism ", when it's applied to that kind of trade unionism action, by observing the french case but also by drawing the parallel between this case and the british situation. Then, on both sides on the Channel, we can see that the " reformism " is built almost as much by the point of view of social sciences as by the historical actors of this process.
Le syndicalisme minier français d'avant 1914 a été très souvent étudié, et presque aussi souvent critiqué, à travers le concept de " réformisme " qui lui a été accolé. Loin de vouloir entreprendre un nouveau procès en trahison, ou en réhabilitation, cet article vise plutôt à creuser la notion de " réformisme " quand elle appliquée à ce type d'action syndicale, en se penchant sur le cas français, mais en questionnant tout autant l'identité postulée avec la situation britannique. Des deux côtés de la Manche on voit alors à quel point ce réformisme est constitué par le regard des sciences sociales, au moins autant que par ceux qui en sont historiquement les acteurs.
