La grammaticalisation de l'enfance en haoussa

Abstract : The synchronic study of one lexical term through the various grades of the linguistic scale (lexicon, nominal or verbal phrase, interpropositional) allows for the analysis of the diachronic process of grammaticalization and of language in general. The process of grammaticalization is illustrated by the study of the word ɗaa "son" in various areas of Hausa grammar : in derivation, it is used to create nouns of trade or geographical origin ; when used as an adjective, it means "small" ; when a determiner, it means "a little" ; finally, as an adverb, it means "(doing) a little".
