Effets de l'activation d'une représentation sociale par l'attitude : étude expérimentale

Abstract : The aim of this study is to examine the anchoring of an attitude within a social representation. So is done an objective measure of attitude, the modalities of which are manipulated (cognitive, conative or affective). The object of this attitude measure concerns the same (or different) object as that of the social representation. The representation is measured using a procedure derived from the model of Basic Cognitive Schemes completed by a lexical analysis. The results show that 1- when the attitude measure concerns a different object it inhibits the mobilization of the representational elements, above all when the representation is activated at the cognitive level of the attitude. 2- when the measure of attitude concerns the conative dimension, the elements related to actions (Praxeology meta-scheme) are more highly activated. The discussion highlights the interest of this study concerning the analysis of the relations between attitude and social representation and the importance of this approach to bring to light the "obscure" zones of a representation.
