État bucco-dentaire et statut nutritionnel: étude anthropo- épidémiologique chez les personnes âgées.

This work studies the link between nutritional state and Oral state (in particular functional masticator capacity). The sample was constituted by 251 persons (for the age and the sex according to the method of the quotas so as to be representative of the French population). Medical history was noted as well as the oral state. Including the types of edentation and prosthetics, we were able to define the following indicators: functional capacity, masticator functional gradient, functional handicap. The nutritional state was appreciated with the BMI and the MNA. Results: 1) The functional capacity protect from the under nutrition or the malnutrition (OR: 0.581; CI 95 %: 0.941 - 0.359) 2) The functional gradient appreciating differently this masticator capacity is also a protective factor.The taking of hypnotic or tranquillizers constitutes a risk factor. Discussion and conclusion: in this work is put in evidence the link between functional masticator capacity, prosthetic rehabilitation and nutritional state.
Ce travail étudie le lien entre état nutritionnel et état bucco-dentaire (en particulier capacité fonctionnelle masticatoire). L'échantillon était constitué de 251 personnes (pour l'âge et le sexe selon la méthode des quotas de manière à être représentatif de la population française). Les antécédents médicaux, étaient relevées ainsi que de l'état bucco-dentaire.En regroupant les types d'édentements et de prothèses, on a pu définir les indicateurs suivants: capacité fonctionnelle masticatoire, gradient fonctionnel. L'état nutritionnel était apprécié grâce au BMI et au MNA. Les résultats essentiels sont: 1) la capacité fonctionnelle masticatoire protège de la dénutrition ou malnutrition (OR: 0.581; IC 95%: 0.941 - 0.359) 2) le gradient fonctionnel appréciant différemment cette capacité masticatoire est aussi protecteur. La prise d'hypnotiques ou de tranquillisants constitue un facteur de risque. Dans ce travail est mis en évidence le lien entre capacité fonctionnelle masticatoire, réhabilitation prothétique.
