Attracting and accommodating creative knowledge workers in Toulouse : the view of transnational migrants

Résumé

This report forms part of a wider European study exploring the impact of creative and knowledge-intensive industries on the competitiveness of EU metropolitan regions.
While the first two surveys focused on the location choices of employees and managers, the present report centres on highly skilled trans-national migrants who live in Toulouse and who work either in knowledge-intensive sectors (aeronautics, consultancy, telecommunications, R&D) or creative sectors (audiovisual, design, music). One objective of this research is to evaluate the weight of different hard and soft location factors, as well as the influence of personal trajectories in their decision to settle in Toulouse.
