Compétences et pratiques de l'éditeur, entre tradition et innovation

Abstract : Pertaining to the field of Information and Communication Science, this contribution studies the evolution of the competencies and practises of the editor, in the field of information books for youth. This questioning includes several parameters: the competitive and international context of the market and the diversity of the series, the conformity to the image and the editing policy of the publisher, the part of innovation in the creation of contents, the conception and production modes of books. The methodology combines editors' interviews, analysis of series and of specialized press. It appears that the factors of evolution in the editor's profession are submitted to economic and technical parameters, as well as to an adaptation to informational mutations in society. The forming of flexible teams adapted to different projects seems to be a general practise of publishers.
