Céramiques du début de la période ottomane à Alexandrie (Egypte). Le comblement des citernes du chantier du patriarcat grec orthodoxe

Abstract : The pottery presented comes from three tanks discovered in Alexandria, near the eastern port. The waste dump set up after these tanks were abandoned contained material made up of mostly local productions and numerous imports from the western Mediterranean, drom Turkey and Far East. The diverstity of the wares reflects, just as in the colourful population of the fondouks stemming from the travel links, the intensity of trade and the profusion of merchandise that passed throught the port of Alexandria during the early decades of the Ottoman Empire.
