Des raps en français au « rap français ». Une analyse structurale de l'émergence d'un monde social professionnel

Abstract : French rapping revolves around a small number of professional artists. A structural analysis of their featurings' network illustrates the strength of their mutual acknowledgment, which indicates the existence of a professional social world of French rap. By using a diachronic network analysis crossed with other documents on the history of rapping in France since 1990, the paper attempts to describe the birth of this social world from 1996 to 1998, then its stabilisation in a relatively institutionalized form from 1999 to 2004.
