Negros y afromestizos en México: viejas y nuevas lecturas de un mundo olvidado

Abstract : Although there has been very little research on black Mexican populations, recent years have seen an increase in this type of studies, which in turn has revealed a relatively unexplored field of study that is problematic in many respects. On the basis of the literature reviewed to date, I propose dealing with the theoretical and methodological issues concerning the double question: What place do Afro-Mexican studies occupy in the intellectual debate on black populations? How could this “social group” be analyzed?
