La fouille de sauvetage du Musée National de Préhistoire des Eyzies (Dordogne) : les données de l'archéométrie et leurs implications.

Abstract : Rescue excavations organized on the occasion of the development of the National Museum of Prehistory of Les Eyzies led in particular to find an important archaeological level of the Middle Palaeolithic, sealed by a fluvial sequence which dominates from 12 to 14 m the current level of Vézère River and Beune River. A lot of arguments coming from geological, palaeontological, palaeomagnetism and archaeological studies incite to report the industry at the end of the isotopic stage 4 or at the beginning of isotopic stage 3. However, an oldest age, such the isotopic stage 6, cannot be totally dismissed for the moment. Whatever the reserved hypothesis is, a major geomorphological evolution is here brought to light.
