Le voyageur, l'électricité et le conducteur

Abstract : Since the period "after the war", the Paris subway' s drivers are in the core of the work and wage relations in the RATP. Beyond the official images, this paper try to understand how this group had been constituting by itself. The aim is not only an historical approach but also a way to become clearer the actual stakes of the subway network' s modernisation. The analysis of the ways in which it has been coping with users allows to demolish some official images. It also allows to explain why a group of workers has been able to hold one' s own while his work's conditions were so radically changed.
