Paramètres, phonotypes et aires enchâssées : affriquées et fricatives slaves et romanes

Abstract : Italian and Romanian are well known as languages endowed with a rich array of palatal consonants. Nevertheless, any linguist would rather compare palatal affricates (as in church, chiken, digest, huge) and fricatives (as in sharp, shark, ship, she) in Romanian and Slavic languages, because of contact between both, than endeavour a broader comparison between palatalisation processes in Romance languages as a whole and Slavic languages. Such a broader typological survey still awaited scrutiny, displaying a typological grid in order to observe trends in the history of various languages and dialect networks.
