Les plans d'îlots Vasserot, support d'un système de l'information géographique historique de Paris

Abstract : The research programme ALPAGE aims to establish a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the city of Paris. First of all, we reconstruct the pre-Haussmannian plot plans from the Philibert Vasserot's block register. These 910 plans, drawn between 1810 et 1836, form the oldest plot map for Paris. An analysis of the cartographic conventions used in these plans enhance our knowledge of the production and drawing of the Vasserot maps. Combining historical, geographical and IT skills of 4 research structures, this programme started the georeferencing and the automatic vectorization of these plans, in order to develop in a GIS layers on the blocks, the plots and the sections with/without buildings.
