Vers une esthétique environnementale : le tournant pragmatiste

Abstract : The research project “Environment, æsthetic engagement and public space” focus on the relationships which are being set up between environment, æsthetics and public space. The very current question of environmental aesthetics and art in public spaces shows the importance of grafting the fields of aesthetics and of ecology specifically urban. Entering into the matter via the mobilizations involving aesthetic criteria and/or artistic practices echoes the pragmatist turn of the scientific analysis which invites to focus on the methodological dimension of the production of lived spaces, by mixing aesthetic criteria of quality of life and ecological criteria of recognition of the natural world via parks and gardened spaces.
